Classification of maritime cargo marks
At present, in the international trade has formed a more unified and complete mode of cargo signs. According to the different status and role of cargo signs, generally can be divided into three kinds of main signs, secondary signs and indicator signs.
Main sign
The main sign is the main body of the goods transportation sign, also known as the shipping sign. The main sign is usually a simple geometric figure (such as triangle, circle, diamond, etc.) with text, including the name of the consignee, trade contract number or letter of credit number and shipping symbol.
Cargo master mark in the relevant freight documents such as loading orders, bills of lading, manifests (cargo manifests) should be fully documented its contents.
Sub-logos
Sub-mark is a supplement to the main mark, its content generally includes:
1) the name of the goods ( deion of goods)
The name of the goods generally refers to the specific standard transport name, should be written in English and the country of production in two languages, the height of the text is not less than 5 cm.
2) Port of destination (destination)
The port of destination should be written directly with the full name of the port of arrival, do not use abbreviations, acronyms and codes, no port of destination of goods, customs generally will not be released.
3)Package number
It is the same main sign of the goods into a number of groups, and then each group in the order of the goods or outer packaging printed on the sequence number. Package number is used to assist the main sign to distinguish the group and calculate the number of packages.
4) Weight and size
Piece size refers to the outer packaging or bare cargo dimensions, weight is usually marked with the total weight and net weight. The weight and measurement of the package is used to calculate the freight, accumulation of load and loading and unloading work basis.
5) Country of origin
Country of origin is generally expressed in English and the text of the country of production. Country of origin mark is a special need in international trade, an export mark. No country of origin mark of goods, many countries prohibit the import, most countries impose a fine.
Indication signs
Indication signs, also known as protection signs, according to the characteristics of the goods to remind the relevant personnel in the loading and unloading, storage, opening and other processes should pay attention to matters to ensure the integrity of the quality of goods.
